Abu Simbel

The temples of Abu Simbel are among the most magnificent monuments in the world. The two temples are carved out of solid rock on the west bank of the Nile and demonstrate the ingenious architectural skills of the ancient Egyptians.

Ramses built these two temples dedicating them to the sun Gods, Amon -Re and Re- Horakhte due to their remote location near the Sundanese boarder in Southern Egypt. The spectacular monument is incredible on the outside but the fascinating architecture continues within. It's quite mind- boggling to even consider how the ancients created the cave that stretches 30 feet high and 58 feet deep with the tools they had thousands of years ago.
